I worded this lesson this way, because I’m hoping it might have brought up some twinges and twangs in you… whispers or even shrieks… places where you don’t feel as though you trust the divine. In fact, I’m going to guess that you don’t completely trust in a Higher Power, even if you think you do. If you trusted the divine completely, you would feel continuous peace and joy. So few of us have this ease.
This week I’m encouraging you to discover what might be in the way of your complete and powerhouse union with Spirit. A Course in Miracles is all about “undoing the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence.”
A Course in Miracles uses the word God and Holy Spirit when it refers to Divine Energy. I know these are “loaded” words for many. For others, it’s just mild disdain or discomfort, but it’s not neutral. I was raised Jewish so, personally, I squirmed and buckled when I hit words like Holy Spirit in the Course. It wasn’t my cup of tea.
But the Course uses these words in unconventional ways. It helped me to realize that Holy Spirit meant the Whole Spirit within me, the One that had unlimited love and strength, an unconditional goodness, not of this world.
Some people have a hard time fully relating to the word God. If you have an issue with God, I assure you your issue is not with God, the actual presence, an Unlimited Loving Intelligence.
Our issues come from the God of religion, or the God of society, but not the God of personal experience. This is your chance to have a true personal experience with the electric presence that accompanies your every breath and can provide a fullness and ease like nothing else. This lesson and this week’s activities will guide you to trust Spirit in every way.
