Have you ever felt like you wish you could just beam yourself into the next part of your life, the part where it all works out, your business takes off, you are with the love of your life, your disease is cured, and you have lots of money in the bank?
A Course in Miracles teaches that “Patience is natural to the teacher of God. All he sees is certain outcome at a time perhaps unknown to him as yet, but not in doubt. The time will be as right as is the answer.” It also teaches us that “infinite patience brings immediate results.” What if you trusted that you were right where you needed to be? What if you trusted that you would be guided in this moment and that you could experience a miracle right now? Miracles never take place in the future. They always take place in the now.
You cannot be in peace and be impatient at the same time. A Course in Miracles is a path of discovering unconditional peace in the moment. Every moment. No matter what the moment looks like. Your mind may tell you that it’s not possible, that you don’t know how the diagnosis will turn out, or if he will leave, or if you will get that job or have to move.
Your mind will always tell you that things must be a certain way before you can have peace. But you are safe exactly where you are. You could not be any safer. You are in the arms of Spirit right now. You always will be. You always have been. Our peace of mind does not rest on future events or outcomes. Nothing over there will be any better than over here if your mindset doesn’t change. The joy of a situation does not come from the situation. It comes from our state of mind.
This week, see if you can stop and bask in your life just the way it is right now. Open up to it. Let go of your judgments and see what purpose this time serves. There is no mistake about this time in your life. Remember, too, that we create our future by how we show up in this moment of our lives.
I love looking at the word “present.” For me, it’s almost as though it’s pre-sent; we pre-send a message to the future. A peaceful moment contributes to a peaceful future. A loving moment contributes to a loving future. Embrace this time with every ounce of love that you have, and step into a more miraculous future.
